The Intern is my favorite movie of all time. When we were given the assignment to create a movie poster, I knew exactly which movie I was going to do.

Working on this poster with my grandpa was such a fun experience. I chose to do the movie, The Intern because it’s my favorite movie. The reason why it’s my favorite is because The Intern for me gives the encouragement to follow my dreams to move to New York someday. When I visited New York for the first time back in 2016, I was in awe of the busy city, the beautiful lights, and hello. Broadways capital! I knew I wanted to live there someday and play a big part in the Broadway industry. Watching The Intern shows me a little glimpse of what that life could be like and the relationships I could create. Also it has Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro. Need I say more?

The beginning process for making this poster was pretty easy seeing as I clicked a timer, got into position and took the picture. My Grandpa was a natural.

Then the crazy editing started. I hadn’t used photoshop in a long time so I was really nervous to see if I would be able to pull this off. To cut it out, I used the Magnetic Lasso tool in photoshop. This tool is used to go around an object and it will a line the object with little dots. Once I had this done perfectly I was able to move it into any photo I wanted.

I also didn’t know how I was going to find a high-quality logo so I made my own!

The things I needed to remember were to make sure when I saved this image that it was a really high resolution. A couple of times I needed to close photoshop from having it open for so long so the images could start looking clear again. Bless Adobe Fonts for finding similar fonts to the original movie poster because it made the poster look so much more real.

I am so happy and pleased that my armature skills were able to pull off something as big as this. Also, I’m so grateful that my Grandpa could be a part of this project. It made it all the more special to me.
